Postponed...

It very much saddens us to announce that we have taken the decision to postpone our planned production of ‘Joseph’ until a similar time next year.

We had found ourselves in the position of having had the luxury of time on our side to react to all governmental advice regarding social distancing/gatherings and the likelihood of theatres/churches being operational to a point of value. Unfortunately the above decision has had to be made as we have reached a point of no return regarding proceeding with the production.

In addition to this, we have also cancelled all celebrations for our 60th anniversary. This will be re-scheduled at a later date next year in line with any further health advice available at the time. Anyone who has made a personal reservation with the venue should contact them directly to negotiate a refund as was sought and received by the organising team.

As regards ‘Joseph’, all stakeholders within the production and organisation have been notified and have agreed that everything will be transferred to next year with the same personnel in their relevant positions. Many thanks to each of them for their flexibility and much appreciated commitment to the Guild.

We would also like to thank again those members (in particular David and Challum) for keeping us entertained and in contact with each other at a whole club level through quizzes and social media events/interests. This has been much appreciated and commented upon by many members of our Guild family.
It would be our intention to continue such events and if anyone would like to organise one or have an idea then please be in touch and we’ll see what magic we can weave.

It would be our further intention, whilst adhering to any health/government advice, to attempt some sort of workshops led by some familiar faces to keep us together and our talents ‘sharp’. No details are available yet, obviously, but look out for further communications from the committee as and when these are possible.

I would like to finish by thanking everyone on the committee who have had to be in communication with various stakeholders to negotiate the changes that have had to be made. It has been a first, and hopefully a last, set of circumstances with which we and our friends in other clubs have had to deal.

Please keep yourselves safe through the easing of lockdown and stay in touch to support each other and to keep up to date with all things ‘family Guild’.

Take care

Charity Partners

Each year, Theatre Guild Glasgow members nominate a charity close to their hearts to support through their production. We donate a percentage of the takings from the Tuesday night production, plus carry out other fundraising and support events throughout the year to raise funds to donate to these causes.
If you would like to support any of the charities we have been supporting, please look them up, or contact us to get information on how to get in touch.
